Local Music in Seville

We met with Debora for an interview to discuss the local culture and music scene in Seville.

Debora Calzaccia is an Italian Erasmus Plus participant from Capacity Ireland who has come from Dublin to do an internship in Seville as a workshop assistant in a ceramics studio. She has been working at the studio since the end of April and has used her free time to attend live music events and immerse herself in the local music scene.

Local Music Scene

Debora is a music fan. In her interview she tells us about her experience in Seville, specifically focusing on her exposure to the local music and culture. We covered topics such as locations to see live music shows, her artistic passion, and her meeting students of a local flamenco school.

She told us about the amazing places the flamenco students took her for jam sessions. Calzaccia specifically mentioned Taberna Ánima, about which she said:

“They do jam sessions of Flamenco every Wednesday and Friday [ … ] It is really magic[al] because people just go there and they do a jam session until 2 in the morning.”

If you also have a passion for music, check out our article about live music in Seville for venues and events to visit.

Debora is a great example of our successful exchange placements. When speaking about her work role and time spent in Seville, Calzaccia said that “everybody is so friendly”, “everything is so colorful”, and she appreciates the “really creative environment” she is in. If you wish to have a similar cultural experience to Debora, apply for one of our work placements in Seville!
